1. What are the ACT Awards all about?
The ACT Awards celebrate and honor individuals, communities and organizations making outstanding contributions in tree growing, forest restoration and conservation towards achieving Kenya's 30% tree cover target by 2032.
2. Why are the ACT Awards important?
The Awards recognize, motivate and inspire action towards increasing Kenya's tree cover while supporting environmental conservation, biodiversity and climate resilience.
3. Who can participate?
Individuals, schools, communities, organizations, NGOs, corporates, government agencies, journalists, media houses, forest rangers and foresters contributing to tree growing or conservation efforts.
4. What are the important dates?
- Applications: 1 September – 30 September 2025
- Finalists: Beginning of October 2025
- Awards Ceremony: 24 October 2025

6. Are there age restrictions?
No. However, the Young Tree Champion category is specifically for applicants below 18 years.

Yes. Global partners supporting tree growing and conservation in Kenya and Africa are welcome.
9. Can international participants nominate Kenyan champions?
Yes, provided the projects are based in Kenya and can be verified.

13. How are winners selected?
Applications are independently reviewed using four criteria: Impact, Innovation, Community Engagement and Goal Alignment.
14. How do the ACT Awards support ESG?
The Awards contribute to eight United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Climate Action, Life on Land, Quality Education and Partnerships.

23. Who organizes the ACT Awards?
The Awards are a Public–Private Partnership between Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and BlueFocus Africa.
24. How do I participate?
Apply online, nominate a deserving champion or share the application with your network.
25. How is my data used?
Applicant information is kept confidential and used solely for administering the ACT Awards.
26. How are winners determined?
Applications are reviewed, scored by an expert panel and approved by the planning committee.
27. How can I become a sponsor?
